Where’s Waldo

We took a short trip out to Lake Waldo this weekend to see what all the hype is about and Waldo did not disappoint. Waldo Lake is the second deepest lake in Oregon next to Crater Lake. The water is non-alkali, crystal clear and surprisingly warm for such high elevation, 5,400 ft.

Luckily we brought our Ultra-Lite Bend Teardrop Camper because the site we found was tight, a full-sized camper would never fit. We found a great site right on the lake and set up camp in minutes since setup in a Teardrop is about as easy as it gets. Then we hit the well maintained lake trail on our Bikes and explored a few miles of Waldo‘s pristine shoreline. After lunch we hit the lake on our DIY party barge consisting of two inflatable kayaks, a rafting frame and platform strapped together. Then it was back to the campsite for campfire, cocktails and cozy Teardrop comfort with our kids in their bunks and the wife and I on a actual queen sized bed inside the Bend Teardrop Cabin.
